Setup

DVD-Cloner is compatible with Windows 7, 8, 10 and 11 operating systems and requires 2GB of RAM and 50GB disk space to install. The installation process is straight forward and requires minimal user input. Once installation is complete the software automatically launches the main window in which the user can configure the settings and insert a disc to begin the copying process.

Copy features

The software provides numerous copy modes, including:

Perfect 1:1 DVD Copy : Simply burns the entire content of a movie to a blank DVD disc. All DVD protection methods are removed which allows the software to copy DVD movies, it supports DVD-5 to DVD-5, DVD-9 to DVD-9 in 1:1 ratio. This mode is the easiest to configure as it has an easy-to-use wizard that guides the user throughout the process.

Movie-only copy : Removes menus and additional content from a DVD movie and copies the main movie to a DVD-5. It allows the user to select which audio tracks and subtitles they would like the software to copy.

Customized copy : This mode gives the user full control over the copying process. It allows users to select specific content areas to copy, such as: chapters of a DVD movie, menus, compression rate and languages. For instance, if you want to save space on the disc you can simply remove additional languages or movie trailers. Parents will also appreciate the customization options as it allows them to remove inappropriate and violent scenes.

DVD-Cloner enables users to preview any customized filters they assign before burning the final copy to a disc. The preview section is fairly advanced as it allows for adjusting compression levels, but more importantly it provides users the chance to experience the quality of the final copy before they burn it to a disc. The intelligent Analyzing Technology provides convenience for users as it automatically identifies the disc type when you insert it. This allows DVD Cloner9 9 to optimize burn settings to suit the disc type. The only downside is the requirement of a free add-on to copy Blu-ray discs, this add-on is available on the DVD cloner website.

Speed & quality

The quality of the final product is somewhat dependent on the compression settings selected by the user. Copy quality is generally impressive without any compression; it does drop a bit when compression filters are applied. Most standard DVD movies can be copied within 40 minutes but the burn time also depends on your hardware.
