Setup
This software has a quick setup process which takes a few minutes to complete. Once the installation is complete, the software will make an initial backup and perform a driver scan on your computer.
Scan performance
The scan result produce a detailed report of the drivers installed on the computer and offers the latest drivers for the user to install. It provides the user with information regarding the version of the driver and its source. The scan detects the majority of outdated drivers and effectively updates them to the latest version.
Driver database
Ashampoo Driver Updater has access to a database of over 27 million driver files. This database contains drivers compatible with Windows 7, 8 & 10. This is a more than adequate amount of drivers to keep any Windows system up to date.
Security
The Ashampoo website states that the drivers are validated and checked for viruses before they are published for customers to download. However, there is no malware detection utility with the software. Unfortunately, there is no other information or privacy agreement notice on the website. It is worthy of mentioning that during our tests of the software we did not notice any third-party applications being installed on our computer.
