The program is very easy to set up. Just download the setup file from the product website and go through a simple installation. You will be prompted to enter an activation key that you receive after purchasing the program. The minimum requirements are low, requiring Windows 2000 and above, so you shouldn't worry about running the software. After the initial setup, you will be welcomed to a simple interface.

Data Recovery

Iolo Search and Recover can recover files from a wide variety of sources. It recovers files from all drive or file system types out there. The scans took a little longer than other recovery programs, but it was just as thorough. Being able to scan for certain file types with a few clicks will help new users, while advanced users will love the advanced filter options. If you’re looking for a specific file, this program should find it.

Effectiveness

Iolo Search and Recover performed admirably in our tests. It found a wide variety of files types and recovered most files with ease. Over and over the program found every test file we threw at it. The variety of file types, deep scans, and easy recovery make this a very effective program. If you’re willing to wait on the long scans, you’ll find this program is a treat once you get inside.

File preview - Certain files, like pictures, can be previewed in a window before recovery. This helps if you’re not sure what a lost file is named.

Iolo Search and Recover is extremely easy to use. The interface is simple, so users should have no problem navigating their way around the program. The program splits up multiple categories (Pictures and Movies, Songs, Emails and more) into an attractive interface. Just simply choose what type of files you want to recover and start searching through multiple file locations for your lost files. Filters are easy to apply, so you will find what you want.

Help & support

Iolo Search and Recover has very poor support. While other programs have live-chat and phone support, Iolo Search and Recover only offers help through email and some basic help tutorials. This program would be much higher on our list if it offered quality support service. If you often run into problems with computer software and need help, this may not be the program for you.

Overall

Iolo Search and Recover is a strong piece of software and should take care of your recovery needs. However, there is better value to be had elsewhere on the market, so make sure you look at some other programs on our list before making a purchase. The slow scans and poor help and support may push you away, but you can do much worse than Iolo Search and Recover.
