Full review

Zoosk.com was initially a Facebook App that began in 2007 and has now expanded into a complete dating site with more than 50 million users. It combines social media features to create a more contemporary platform. In this review, we will examine how it performed.

To sign up for Zoosk, you'll need to answer some basic questions such as your height, ethnicity, and location. After this, you'll receive a validation email to confirm your account. If you prefer, you can link your Facebook account to speed up the process. While a profile photo is optional, most users choose to upload one as it's necessary to interact with other members.

Search

Zoosk offers one automated match per day based on your initial sign-up information, but most of the searching is manual. The manual search feature is user-friendly and with a vast number of members, you'll easily come across profiles to browse. However, unlike some dating sites, Zoosk doesn't offer search parameters like body type and appearance. This means you may need to click through several profiles before finding a suitable match.

Additionally, there is a Carousel feature that presents various potential matches based on the information you have shared. You can either choose to meet the member by selecting Yes, No, or Maybe. This feature is an enjoyable way of browsing profiles and can help initiate conversations as it suggests mutual matches based on your responses.

Communication

Zoosk provides multiple ways to connect with other users. However, the most effective features are only available for subscribed members. Unsubscribed users can still send emails, instant messages, and winks to other users. However, these options are limited, and subscribing will give you more access. You can also download the Zoosk Messenger, which allows you to chat with multiple members simultaneously and even have video chats.

Zoosk is great for subscribed members. It's like using your social networks, so you can share posts and images on your news feed and easily talk to other subscribers. This makes Zoosk very appealing to younger users who are used to this kind of communication.

Safety

We found that Zoosk has a large member base, but most of the profiles appeared to be genuine and we didn't come across any inappropriate content while browsing. The platform has a helpful section on safe online dating, and the best part is that they offer contact forms for both Police and Legal enquiries.

Ease of use

The Zoosk interface is modern and user-friendly for those familiar with social networks like Facebook or Myspace. However, inexperienced users may find it overwhelming due to the abundance of options and features. But with a little practice, searches, uploads, and communication are all straightforward. Additionally, there is a mobile version of the site that is even simpler to navigate.

Help & support

Zoosk has a helpful FAQ and Help section, with a contact number available for support and billing inquiries. Additionally, there's a list of useful contacts, including Police Enquiries, Legal inquiries, and a section on careers at Zoosk.

Overall

Zoosk is a dating site that successfully updates the dating experience by incorporating elements of social networking and communication that can appeal to individuals of all ages. Its visually appealing interface and enjoyable features make it clear why it is one of the fastest-growing dating sites. However, the absence of communication options for unsubscribed members diminishes its overall quality.
