A new study suggests that there has been a huge increase in Spyware infections targeted at smartphones in the past six months.
The study conducted by SMobile Systems tested nearly 2000 smartphones with the results revealing huge increases in the number of spyware, worm and trojan infections.
The attacks are transmitted via Bluetooth, short messaging services and multimedia messaging services. In many cases users were unaware that there mobile phone had been infected with spyware.
Quite often the attacks are financially motivated. The Spyware allows hackers to intercept voice conversations, email and SMS messages.
