Hackers attack children's websites

16 January 2012 | Category: Online

Newly released security report shows that hackers are spreading malware via children's gaming website.

According to Avast security malware over 60 children's websites had some sort of infection last week. The most popular of those websites cutearcade.com had more than 12,000 reports of malware infections.

Most of the children's websites had web-pages that included Javascript redirection scripts to malware infected websites. All of the websites in the report appeared to be legitimate businesses.

Security experts believe that hackers have turned their attention to children's websites in recent years, because children aren't as aware of security threats as adults.
