Our verdict

Overall Jango is a great choice for those looking for a free music streaming service. There are no ads during streaming, and you can skip songs as many times as you would like. It also has a very diverse set of music, with duplicate songs rarely occurring. The only downfall of Jango is that it doesn't have many features like the ability to mix stations or shuffle them. Overall it's a great service and should be more than enough for the casual listener.

You don't technically have to sign up with Jango to enjoy its service, but there are added benefits for signing up. Signing up with Jango gives you a personal profile that keeps track of your favorite songs, artists and stations. It also allows you to connect to your Facebook profile which lets you can share songs you enjoy. The sign-up process is simple, requiring only your email, age, gender, and date of birth. You can also opt to sign up using your Facebook account, which makes for a quicker option. Jango lets users enjoy all of its services and features completely free of charge.

Music selection

Jango uses the station-type approach to its music offerings, similar to other free music streaming services. Instead of picking specific songs to be played like paid services, Jango lets users type in their favorite artists and plays random music from that artist or from similar artists.

Each song will have information about the band and the album next to the music player. It even shows the band's latest tweets if they have a Twitter account. Jango also gives users the ability to favorite songs, which will increase the likelihood of that song popping up again in the future.

There is also a thumbs-down button which adds the currently playing song to a “banned” list that heavily decreases the likelihood of songs playing from that list. Jango has a diverse library of songs and should keep most listeners satisfied.

Features

Recent stations –Jango will keep track of your most recently played stations in case you want to listen to them again. If you want to listen to a station you recently enjoyed, simply take a visit to the “Recent Stations” tab.

Favorites –Jango lets you favorite songs to increase the likelihood of them popping up again. It also keeps them in a list, so you can go back and find a song you previously enjoyed if you don't remember the title.

Extras

Mobile app –- Listen to Jango on your IOS or Android devices. The app makes it simple to find new stations and listen to music on the go.

Social networking capabilities –Users can opt to log in with their Facebook account instead of having to enter their email and password to sign up/sign in. Also, songs can easily be shared to Twitter or Facebook for friends to see.

Ease of use

Jango has a welcoming interface that's easy to navigate. The music player stays static toward the top of the web page, so you never have to open a new window to search for stations or change any settings. Searching for and playing new stations is easy with the embedded search bar at the top of the page.

Help & support

Jango offers a full, detailed FAQ page that can answer almost any questions you have about the service. If, for some reason, you can't solve an issue with the FAQ page, you can always send them an email through their contact page and wait for a response. The FAQ page should fulfill your needs, though.

Overall

For the price (free), Jango is a fantastic music streaming service. It has a diverse music library, no ads interrupt streaming and unlimited skips. The service is also smooth and bug-free. Jango is very similar to the popular Pandora, but Pandora is only available in the United States, while Jango is available in multiple countries. If you don't absolutely need to pick and choose every song you play, Jango should fit your needs perfectly.
