G Data AntiVirus
Security status - The main screen gives you an immediate update of your security status. In left hand panel you can see a real-time graph with the effect that G Data AntiVirus has on your computer's processor. In right hand panel you can see the status of your virus protection, virus signatures, web protection & email check. All options lead to various configurations.
Monitor - You can choose whether you want to use one or both anti-virus engines provided with G Data AntiVirus.
Scan choices - You can scan for viruses on your entire computer or removable media. You can check your computer's memory and startup for malware. Like many other anti-virus software you can also perform a rootkit scan.
Scan engines - G Data AntiVirus 2012 comes with two scan engines.
Rootkit check - A standard system scan will also check for rootkits. You can disable rootkit scans if you prefer. In the bottom left hand corner you can select G Data AntiVirus to pause scan processes in times of high system loads.
Email checks - Allows you to configure both incoming and outgoing virus scans. If a virus is identified in received email you have various options available such as insert a warning only, disinfect or delete attachment.
Scheduled scans - Allows you specify how regularly you want to perform a scan. You can do this a one-off, hourly daily, weekly or monthly. You can also pick a specific time & day of the week.
Scan monitor - Plenty of scan monitoring options.
